Northview News - May 22, 2015

Hello Northview Swimmers…..

I will be at the Pool from 1:00-3:00 PM, on Saturday May 23. If you’d like to pay your dues, sign a release and get yourself a new key.  After that, you are at the mercy of my schedule.  Bwah-hah-hah!

A HUGE thank you for a true and the brave who came out last Saturday to help with the pool clean up.  The Meyers family gets a gold star and “First Jumping in the Pool” rights.  As for the rest of the weeds, if you see them, yank them out.

Happy first day of Summer.

A big THANK YOU to those that came to the pool cleaning day last Saturday.  We got a lot of weeding and general cleanup done, and got the covers off of the pools.  If you weren't able to be there (or even if you were) please consider coming next weekend (the 16th) so that we can complete cleanup and be ready to open on May 23. Remember that children are welcome at next weekend's cleaning day, May 16 from 9:00-12:00!

So far we have 24 members this year, please also come and pay your dues and get your key.

Northview Swim Club Members,

It is coming!!! The Annual General Meeting of the Northview Swim Club. April 23rd at 7:00 PM, meet at the pool.

Dues are $400, bring a key to exchange.

We also need to elect a President Elect and a Jr. Pool Manager.   Can you help us out? We want to keep the pool up and running. Please reply back to this e-mail if you would like to be put on the ballot or find out what those jobs entail.

We also have a few handbook changes we would like to discuss.

We have room for a few more members… and would love to welcome them to NVSC.  Look around to your new neighbors… are there any that would like to come?

And save the date: May 9th and May 16th are the Pool Work Days, from 8:00-12:00.

Sincerely,

Christine McKinnon - NVSC Secretary

Save the Date!

Results of MEMBERSHIP Meeting and POTLUCK DINNER PARTY

 Friday June 27th
1. Change the hand book language to reflect that spouse teams can serve in board positions, but will only have one vote per membership as per the handbook.
The handbook already says a team my share a position, which means still one vote. A change in wording is not necessary

2. Rewrite the handbook language to reflect that members not paying dues in the previous year will not be considered members in the current year.
Members who have not paid dues by the end of the current season, shall receive a certified letter of membership cancellation notice due to not paying dues.   They have until the first seasonal board meeting of the following year to pay dues.  If the dues are not paid by this date, the Board may authorize termination of membership.

Note:  This is not a new resolution, only that the board has not acted on this in a while.

3. Pro-rate the dues for newly joining members in the year they join.
Pro-rates dues for newly joined members is determined on a weekly basis.  Based on the current 2014 dues of $400, the weekly rate is $30 a week.

Lap swimmers may be older kids, who have an adult with them.  They should follow lap swim protocol.

If we get kids in the pool splashing, the consequence is those kids are not allowed back for a time
